Dog Friendly Hotels in Shaoxing

The journey of life is sweeter when travelled with a dog - Bridget Willoughby

Shaoxing is located in Zhejiang province and is known for its architecture, traditional Chinese bridges, boats, and of course yellow wine. What most people don’t realize is that Shaoxing is fairly large and once your out of the main city the mountains open up and there are numerous hikes, and swimming areas.

Best of all, there are some amazingly dog friendly hotels with amazing scenery.

We will keep adding to the list as we find more great dog friendly hotels in Shaoxing

Nayuan Guesthouse

The owner of the guesthouse was extremely friendly and welcomimg. He has 2 dogs himself that live at the hotel so he and the staff were more than okay with our 4 dogs. They would even bend down to pet them and we were able to take them everywhere with us. The owner also speaks great English so we had no problem communicating.

The hotel itself is really nice, the rooms were large and very clean. The beds were comfortable and the view from the room was really nice. The sunset from the balcony was amazing and they have nightly movies on the projector which was awesome. While we were there he made sure to include us and pick and English movie or one with subtitles so we could join movie night.

The surroundings

The location of the guesthouse is phenomenal! You can really park your car and just enjoy the area. The hotel is right beside a ancient village which is really nice to walk around in.

Also about 100-200m from the hotel there are tea fields that you can walk around in. This is stunning at sunset. The paths are mainly flat with a few stairs so it was fairly relaxing walk. The farmers were also super nice and as long as our dogs didn’t disturb the area they were totally fine with our pups being off leash.

There are also some hikes and a ‘rock river’ in the area for more adventurous  activities. You can climb up the rocks, but for smaller dogs or the less advernteous there is a stair path beside the rock river you can use instead
