Dog Friendly things to do in Anji

Stop to smell the roses and take in the scenery!

Anji

Anji is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Surrounded by bamboo forests means endless hiking paths for you and your four legged friends.

There are also some amazing activities and parks that are dog friendly, they even have dog friendly rafting in the summer!

We will keep updating the list as we go, but the best thing to do is get lost in the forest and find some amazing hiking trails among the bamboo forest!

Anji Bamboo Expo Park – 安吉竹博园(4A)

We went on a weekend and the park was almost deserted. We brought our 5 dogs into the ticketing area to purchase our tickets and no-one cared!

The park is huge, so they have little car style vehicles that will take you around the park. When we asked if we could take our dogs they said if we rented our own we could since we had so many dogs. I imagine if you only have 1 dog they wouldn’t mind, but we completely understood as we had 5!

The dogs were allowed everywhere in the park except the panda area, and they told us this when we bought out tickets so it wasn’t a surprise. Everywhere else was okay for the dogs granted we hardly saw anyone. The park looks like it has seen better days. I think the main area is the pandas so everywhere else is quiet and not well upkept. This was perfect for us because we could wander and the dogs could run and get their zoomies out.

Jingkongli Grand Canyon

Calling this a Grand Canyon is being very nice. It is more of an undeveloped, so less touristy, area. Regardless this was one of the highlights of our trip in Anji. It was the best of both worlds, you can do some hiking as well as swimming. There was a section that was definitely a bit more advanced hiking wise as you were climbing up the river bed. We climbed for awhile but had no idea where it would take us and decided to turn around so we didn’t end up too far from our car.

Except for the river bed adventure the area was mainly flat with some rocky or hills areas but nothing too hard. The best part was that there were lots of places with access to the river and the farther you walked the less crowded it became. The dogs loved being able to run free and wade in the water. It was perfect for a hot summer day!
