Anhui is best known for the yellow mountain, but it has so much more to offer.
When people think of Anhui they think of the yellow mountains (黄山) and avatar. Anhui is full of mountains and beautiful picturesque landscapes. It is very easy to get off the path well-travelled and really explore this beautiful province. Best of all, the mountains mean hiking for your dogs.
I have been to Xuancheng twice and my dog loves it there. He is off leash the entire time and gets to explore. we usually stay in a little farmstead. It very peaceful, the owner himself has two dogs. Best of all we are surrounded by trees on our walks and there is very little vehicle traffic.
Jinshan Bamboo Sea
Jinshan bamboo sea (笄山竹海) is a great short morning or afternoon hike. This was a fairly easy hike that consisted mainly of stairs through a bamboo forest. You could also opt to take the road to the top, but then you will miss the bamboo forest. We usually walk up the stairs and down the road, however be careful on the road as there may be cars (you can drive to the top). This place is not usually very busy, even on holidays there aren’t so many people there. There is a large parking lot at the bottom of the hike with people selling drinks and snacks.
We sometimes take 15-20 dogs here, most off leash with no problems.

Guangde Linshan Grand Canyon
This place is also usually very quiet. It is perfect for the summer as you can go swimming in some of the waterfalls. It is not a big area, but it is very nice. The path is mostly flat following the river. There are areas where you can get off the path and go into the river. There is also a sand area the dogs can play in by the large waterfall.
The path is mostly flat with some areas of stairs. Not very long or difficult. We have brought 15-20 dogs here, most being off leash, with no problems.
There is also rafting here in the summer, not sure if that is dog friendly though.
