Atlas Hotel is an ideal for a city break with friends.

Atlas is a new hotel, opened in QingPu in the middle of 2022, and it is ideal for a city break with some friends, either human or a furrier variety. This hotel is also very family friendly too, so if you have human children, you can consider bringing them along.
Atlas hotel is easiest to get to if you drive. A Didi would be possible, but it would be expensive. At the time of writing, the village around Atlas is being developed, so there was a lot of construction going on (nothing was heard at the hotel, only seen on the drive). This means it is a little difficult to find, off the beaten track, but that ensures it is nice and peaceful when you arrive.
The Location/ Rooms
The hotel is on the edge of Dianshan Lake, and it is just a few minutes’ walk to get to the edge of the water, with some picnic spots by the lake, if the weather permits. Within the grounds of the hotel itself, there is a park with a play area for kids (or doggies), a café/bar, an area for bbqs, a small hot spring area, a lighthouse (with a whale lit on the side in the evening, because why not?), and a lot of nicely built common areas. The rooms in the hotel are spacious and contain bathtubs, outdoor seating areas, and are, generally, very comfortable for both human and doggo, but know there is a fee for bringing a pet (we paid 150元/ night).
Restaurant
The food in the hotel is nice, although you need to order a day in advance for each meal. There are some restaurants close by, but all require driving. If you do want to venture out, I can recommend a lovely café called 一尺花园( in岑卜村 village), which is also pet friendly, has a seemingly endless number of rooms and seating areas, a western menu, and a pretty awesome selection of cakes. Our recommendation would be try the hotel food, bring some food for picnic, and stop at the café above on your way back to Shanghai.
Overall, this is a pretty inexpensive and convenient trip from Shanghai and the condition and facilities of the hotel are a pleasant surprise. Highly recommended for a short getaway
