Unleash the Fun
By pure luck, we found a wonderful surprise – a dog friendly park – during our stay at a nearby hotel in the area. It was back in 2020 when we found ourselves exploring the park area that was still under construction. Little did we know that we had discovered a long stretch along the Suzhou Creek, extending for kilometres to the west. What makes this park truly special is that it’s completely free entry, making it a popular public space where local residents come to walk their dogs. On sunny days, some even bring along tents and BBQ equipment, creating a laid-back environment for families and friends to relax while their furry companions make new doggy friends.
Unveiling the park: For those seeking the ultimate dog-friendly experience, this park offers three entrance points, one of which is known as the Shanghai Half-Marathon Binhe Park (上海市半马滨河公园) the purple one in the middle
However, our personal favourite spot is at the westernmost part of the park (blue patch) where it seems the builder of the park accidentally have a designated area for the dogs to run, play and socialize freely. This particular section is unintentionally enclosed by a fence due to its location above an underground tunnel, so the safety for our furry friends are kept with its surrounding railings.
I’m so excited to share with you all! I noticed that it has quickly become a popular destination for dog owners, especially since the location is not far from the heart centre of Puxi, Shanghai. This park really offers a perfect setting to connect with nature, spend quality time with your furry friends, and meet fellow dog enthusiasts.
