Let’s go to swimmable waterfalls in Wuyuan

No one can travel. better than water because it makes its own path

Wuyuan is famous for its yellow flowers and picturesque landscape, but most people don’t know it is also a perfect place for a swim in some beautiful waterfalls!

Located in Wuyuan there is a waterfall hike like no other I have seen in China. This hike has numerous waterfalls and many of them are perfect for swimming. The hike also seems to go on forever. We hiked in for a few hours and still didn’t make it to the end!

Location

The path is located in a small village. This village actually has a few paths that have waterfalls. We did both paths, the one that takes you through the village along the stream is very short and not great for swimming. Instead cross the bridge and walk along the path following the wide river.

Follow the signs for 叶家大院. This restaurant is on the path to the waterfalls.

The Waterfalls

The path to the waterfalls is well maintained. There are guards rails and a nice path. That being said there are lots of spots to get off the path to swim.
The path is more a walk than a hike. I did the majority of the walk in flip flops. However, I do recommend water shoes if you plan to get into the waterfalls as some areas can be rocky/slippery and bare feet or flip flops are not recommended.

Note: After the first double waterfall there are some steeper steps you need to go up. For this part I recommend you leash the dogs. At the top there is a drop off over the waterfall and if the dogs, or people were to fall they would definitely die/badly hurt themselves.
